As part of Yahoo! TV's small but dedicated team, I dream up, build and edit features, promos, photo galleries, and blog posts. I am especially involved with reworking our existing tools to better promote our content partners' news stories and experimenting with creative ways to integrate social networking. When I'm not busy updating the site, you can often find me interviewing one of my favorite TV stars.

I helped Yahoo!'s celebrity gossip site maintain its category-leading position by keeping its front page updated with the freshest news stories, blog posts, photos, and videos. I also built and edited a popular weekly photo gallery recapping the biggest pop-culture events, and I was responsible for pitching stories from all of Yahoo!'s core entertainment properties to the site's front page editors.

I made sure that the day's top stories had the latest and most appropriate video and photo assets attached. I built photo galleries, assembled hubs for key news topics, activated live video streams and kept editors informed of the best video clips submitted by our providers. I also acted as a liaison with those providers, troubleshooting video problems and requesting specific clips on behalf of our editors.

As the senior member of MTV News' West Coast production team, I built daily news articles, features and blog posts; edited story art, photo galleries and videos; and published content to MTV.com and related sites (VH1.com, mtvU.com, MTV2.com) and MTV News' family of blogs (Newsroom, MTV Movies Blog, You R Here).

As an editor I was responsible for fact checking, line editing and copy editing news stories and features. I wrote eye-catching headlines and promotional copy on a daily basis, along with the occasional band profile, live review or feature presentation. As the site's copy chief, I decided matters of style and maintained the internal stylebook.

Devil in the Woods (a.k.a. DIW) was a nationally distributed, quarterly published indie-rock magazine.

I edited news, reviews and features for SonicNet.com's daily news page as well as the monthly online magazine Addicted to Noise. In my final two months as copy editor I was promoted to senior copy editor. When SonicNet.com split into separate genres, I was promoted to editor of the rock and pop sections, deciding the daily lineups; generating and assigning stories; editing all written content; and working with producers to ensure that each piece was rich with audio and visual media. I also wrote album reviews and contributed to the site's award-winning investigation into the Woodstock '99 riots.
